St. Kitts Young Leaders demonstrate the essence of Caribbean Unity
Young Leaders from the Basseterre High School in St. Kitts, presented clothing, food products, computer equipment, and a cheque for two
thousand dollars to Ms. Madeline Baptiste, principal of the Anglican High School at a short ceremony on Tuesday 5th April at the Ministry of
Education. The presentation was made under the Young Leaders 2005 programme entitled "Strengthening Caribbean Society, One Vision,
One Culture, One People."
According to the President of the Basseterre High School Young Leaders, Naadiya Mills "we saw an urgent need to help with the rehabilitation
efforts in Grenada, and as students ourselves, we understand how difficult it must be to cope without many of the basic tools necessary for
learning."
Vice President of the Basseterre High School Young leaders, Mr. Akeem Bacchus said that the items were accumulated through various fund
raising activities and through corporate sponsorship.
Due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ivan, Young Leaders associations in Grenada will not be participating in this year’s RBTT Young
Leaders competition. The Anglican High School, which was adopted by the Basseterre High School Young Leaders, was awarded the Regional Award
of Merit at last year’s finals.
