NEWS RELEASE

The Government of Grenada in collaboration with the British Government is undertaking a review of the Royal Grenada Police Force. The review is designed to look at the RGPF’s preparations for Hurricane Ivan and their conduct of operations during and after the hurricane.

According to Minister of National Security Senator Einstein Louison, the review is aimed at improving the plans and operations of the force so that its performance will be improved in the event of another major disaster like Hurricane Ivan. Upon assuming his duties as Minister of National Security, Senator Einstein Louison had promised that the review would take place. Senator Louison believes that such a process is necessary in the growth and development of the police force.

Two top police officers from the United Kingdom and Jamaica will arrive over the weekend to start the review process. The two officers will be here for a period of two weeks over which time they will conduct their intensive review.
