Effort Seeks Supplies and Donations for Grenada St. George’s, Grenada, September 9, 2004 - As a result of the devastating effects of Hurricane Ivan on the Caribbean nation of Grenada, a relief effort has been initiated by the Consulte General of Grenada based in Miami. Grenada endured a direct hit by Hurricane Ivan late Tuesday afternoon and has suffered severe damage to personal property, livestock, produce and life. "It is with a very humble heart that I reach out to kind souls throughout the U.S. for assistance for my fellow Grenadians in our tri- island State of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique," said Honorable Consul-General Richard Nixon. "Grenada has been seriously impacted by Hurricane Ivan and needs as much help as possible." The following items are being requested:
